Hello
My name is Tatum, and interior design is what I do.
My journey with interior design started young. I grew up watching Candice Olson on HGTV’s ‘Divine Design’ with my mom. Watching her transform spaces the way she did was absolute magic to me. I even got to witness magic firsthand because as you could imagine, my mom also transformed interiors. I grew up with all of my childhood houses always feeling like home no matter where we were, a feeling I could only describe now after having years to reflect on the experience.
My mom was such a creative spirit. Watching her do what she did enforced upon me that design is three significant elements: function, form, and feeling. When I tragically lost her just before the 2020 pandemic, I realized I could not live without the feelings I could get from interiors. I didn’t want to lose the spirit of my mom, I didn’t want to lose the magic, and I didn’t want to lose the feeling of home. I went back to school for interior design in 2020 and graduated in 2023. If my surroundings impacted me this much, I wanted to make it my profession to help others realize the untapped potential of their surroundings and the feelings they could get from them by way of interior design.
As a professional designer, I love to design creative, colorful, and vibrant spaces that not only have form and function, but feeling as well.
